You need Cinema 4D to use City Rig. When you buy it on our site, you should receive an automatic download link. If you’re in Europe, you may need to notify us of the sale if you don’t receive your download link right away.
i don t have anything link
could you check email?
Hi Minimi:
I’ve sent you your link. You are in Asia, so we are 12 hours apart. Overseas IP addresses often get dropped by the GoDadder servers. We apologize for this.
Hey,
What is the correct way to export a scene made using City Rig? I want to use it in Maya for an animation.
Hi C4dKING:
We no longer use Maya, so I wouldn’t recommend trying to export City Rig for that program. Cheers!
James
Hi: Sorry, but we don’t support Maya, so I cant’ answer that question.
hi, I’m interested in purchasing this city model. I’m planning to import this using element 3d inside After Effects. Wondering if I can use this model and render the scenes for sale inside a 30 second AE template. Is that ok for the licensing? Of course I won’t include this 3d model file inside the asset files.
Hi De:
You may certainly do what you suggest. We would appreciate a credit if you don’t mind.
Sorry I missed this comment and am so late in my response.
Cheers
James
Hello there, is the City Rig Plugin fully compatible with C4D R17 (Visualize) on a Mac? Will it stay compatible / be updated for future releases of C4D?
Thanks for your help,
-Andi
Hi Andi:
We haven’t released City Rig 2.0 yet, but normally the backward compatibility problems occur when you open a project made in a newer version of Cinema using an older version.
City Rig uses Mograph, and based on the comparison chart on Maxon.net, it doesn’t appear that Visualize supports cloner objects.
It might be time to upgrade to Broadcast?
Cheers
James Steidl
Curious if it’s possible to replace or customize the buildings?
Hi Dave:
It is definitely possible to edit or replace the buildings.
Cheers
James
Heya! I bought the first City Rig you guys released a while ago. Will I be required to still pay full price for City Rig 2.0 even when I have the original City Rig? Or will there be some kind of update or something like that?
Hi Scoot: No. You’ll always be able to apply the full purchase price of City Rig 1 to any update in the future. There is no deadline.
Cheers
James
Hi James. I received a coupon code a while ago but didn’t have the money to pay for the upgrade at the time. Says it expired May 31, 2016. How do I go about upgrading at this point? I’d love to buy it today.
Hi Scoot: No problem. I’ll send you a new code. Cheers!
Two questions.
1.
I want to fly down a city block (local city). As camera proceeds down, I want to flip thru time – starting with up to date, and as camera moves, buildings will update to older & older versions.
City kit would be a great start. Can you edit models after – undoubtedly have to build some? Its not clear if there is a way to loose parametric control and have raw polys…
2. Can this be used with DEM maps, like Paul Everetts DEM plugin?
Hi Shelley: Yes, you can edit the models. I’ve never used this with DEM maps, but the whole layout is set up on a flat plane, so anything that is flat would work.
Cheers
James
Hi!
Would love to know if the generated city is completable with Maya or 3D Max. Because I need something that will help generate a city for my game.
We do not offer an export path for Cinema 4D content. Games require a different license agreement.
Hi there,
2 quick questions i hope:
Can i sell any city i create or is this not allowed due to the SW license
Is it possible to export a city to another format..ex obj or dxf
Thanks very much 🙂
You can sell your renders, but not the 3D models. Exporting might require doing it one item at a time. The Xpresso will no longer work, however.
Hi there..
2 quick questions:
If I buy City Rig am I allowed to sell the cities i create or does the license prohibit that
Is it possible to export to other formats such as obj, dxf, collada etc..
Hi Darren:
No, sorry about that, but you cannot redistribute the models inside City Rig.
Is there a way to incorporate custum buildings into that rig? (I want to be able to make different templates e.g. medieval european or parisian)
Hi Arnold : Yes, absolutely. This is very easy to do.
I’m really interested in buying city rig but i will need railroads are they availabale in the kit or can you implement them in any way?
Hi M: Yes, we have railroads. We have a free railroad rig in the back room, but we will be releasing a railroad pack soon with a completely updated rig.
Hi M: We have a railroad rig that’s almost ready to be released.
